Business basics: incorporation, taxation, accounting, marketing, sales, and the business itself- to sell a product or service, you must be either the best in the area or at least very good. Because of my corporate career, it was one of my easy-going parts.
Digital creation skills – creating the website, writing the landing pages, and preparing the e-courses, writing a blog. Oh, that was hard. Even if you go to external companies for help, the basic stuff is still required. What I have done: practiced at least 2 hours a day, and I watched a number of YouTube channels about WordPress, website running etc. Drove me crazy
Writing skills: how to write short and memorable messages. What can I say – I love writing. As long as I remember myself – always with a pen and paper. Still, took an e-writing course from V. Akkerman, during the pandemic – he is brilliant.
Speaking skills: once you’re the face of your company, you have to talk. A lot. You need to present, agree and talk to the Customers, Suppliers, outsourcers, media, and many people who will never buy your services. When you are a foreigner in different countries, unless you are a monk, you develop your tongue muscle as a bodybuilder athlete before competition: all the time. Still, I took a Toastmasters course for 1. 5 years. A great community for people who needs to talk professionally. Worth every second of spend.
This one combined: you need to learn to be on the spotlight and you need to be on a social media. This one was torture.
